We all have days that seem endless. Whether our day requires us being a responsible parent, working 10-hour shifts, walking the dog, doing laundry or all of the above, we sometimes end up drained of energy, tired and as a result more susceptible to viruses and common colds. Exhaustion is the word to describe most of our days. Sad but true. Luckily, a cup of tea can refresh you, help you banish exhaustion and add some positive energy to your life after a tiring day..

This tea recipe is for all you busy people!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon dried peppermint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon green tea (I use gunpowder)
  • 3-4 cups of water
  • honey or stevia to sweeten (optional)

Directions for three cups:

Bring your water to a boil and add your peppermint, basil and thyme. Mix with a spoon and let steep for no more than 3 minutes. Then add your green tea. Stir your tea up with a spoon for 1 more minute. These particular herbs and the green tea can make your drink too strong so if you are not into bitter tea avoid steeping for too long. Strain and serve hot or let your drink cool down and serve over ice. You can sweeten with some stevia or honey!

Enjoy!
