Life today is very demanding for most of us. Our daily responsibilities at family and work sometimes make us feel like there is not enough hours in a day. While studies have shown that healthy amounts of stress can actually be constructive, persistent and long-term stress can be very detrimental for your mental but also physical health. If your hectic schedule has you feeling anxious and strained of energy this tea recipe is for you. The refreshing peppermint in it will refresh and invigorate you while the kava root will lift your mood. Siberian ginseng is known as a great, natural energy-booster and the antioxidants in schisandra berries will enhance your immune system. This tea is a must try!

Ingredients for 50 servings

  • 1/2 cup Siberian ginseng root
  • 1 cup peppermint dried leaves
  • 1/4 cup licorice root
  • 1/3 cup dried orange peel
  • 1/2 cup astragalus root
  • 1/3 cup kava-kava root
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons schisandra berry powder

Mix all of your herbs really well in a large bowl so that their extracts are distributed properly. Put your blend in a glass jar or a tin and store in a cool and dark place for up to a year. Before using your blend to make some tea shake your jar well.

Directions to brew one cup

  • 1½  cup water
  • 2 teaspoons of your tea blend

Bring water to a boil. Steep your blend in the water for about 4-5 minutes. You can steep a little longer if you like your tea strong. Strain and serve hot. This tea is sweet enough due to the vanilla and licorice added but if you like your tea a lot sweeter you can add some honey or stevia. I personally like it plain.

I hope you  enjoy it as much as I do and don’t forget to leave a comment below if you have any questions.
